Ryan Reynolds Shows Support to Wrexham Soccer Team Following Defeat

In what turned out to be an endearing moment for League One outfit Wrexham, club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sent out a supportive message to their side after they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Reading two weeks ago. As such, fans have hailed the two actors for their reassuring gesture. Moreover, head coach Phil Parkinson has expressed his gratitude to the duo for their encouragement.
So, here are all the details fans need to know about what the Deadpool actor did after his club’s recent defeat.
How did Ryan Reynolds react to Wrexham defeat?
Following the team’s latest match against Stockport County, Phil Parkinson disclosed that both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sent them motivating text messages after they lost against Reading.
The celebrity pair followed it up by sharing an uplifting video message at Parkinson’s behest, as per talkSPORT. The veteran tactician noted, “Rob and Ryan have been brilliant, we got beat at Reading last week, you get those along the way and straight away next day both of them messaged me, ‘anything you need us to do, any help we can give you.’ Which is great.”
Parkinson then revealed how the video message from Reynolds and McElhenney, addressed to the Wrexham personnel, came to be. He stated, “You know when you lose as a manager you know it’s like it doesn’t matter where you are in the league. I said to Rob and Ryan I think just a nice little video message for the boys before the Wycombe game, just about ‘ten games to go lads, you know you’ve done great.’”
Furthermore, Phil Parkinson hailed the owners’ active involvement in the club. He said, “There’s a bit of a supportive message because they’ve not been over for a short while, so they did that, and just little things like that help you know because it’s not all on the manager. It’s so when we win, everyone takes the plaudits, but it’s important as well when it doesn’t go as well that everyone pulls together around you, and Rob and Ryan have been great at that.”
The motivating notes from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney seemed to have worked after all. This is because Wrexham has since recorded victories in both their subsequent matches. With narrow wins against Wycombe Wanderers and Stockport County, the Red Dragons now occupy second place in League One with 74 points in 38 games played.
