Legally Blonde Prequel Photo Shows First Look at Young Elle Woods

“What, like it’s hard?”
Prime Video has unveiled the first look at Lexi Minetree’s young Elle Woods for the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series called Elle. Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon famously played the character back in 2001.
The newly shared photo shows the young Elle Woods clad in pink — a color that would go on to be her staple in her days as an aspiring lawyer at the prestigious Harvard Law School. Set to bring audiences back to Elle’s earlier years before her admission at Harvard, the image shows Elle probably speaking to her friend on a wired landline like a true ‘90s kid. The series is now in production.

What will Prime Video’s Legally Blonde be about?
From creators Laura Kittrell (Insecure) and Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries), Elle will see the titular character back in her days in high school and how she became “the iconic young woman we came to know and love” in the first Legally Blonde movie.
Witherspoon announced the cast herself in an Instagram video a few months ago, introducing Minetree as the younger counterpart of the iconic role she played in 2001. “Allow me to introduce you to the new Elle Woods! After watching so many incredible auditions for the new Elle prequel series on [Prime Video], we finally found our Elle,” the actress wrote.
Elle also stars June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie) as Elle’s mom Eva, Tom Everett Scott (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Elle’s dad Wyatt, Gabrielle Policano as “the anti-Elle Woods” Liz, Jacob Moskovitz as star athlete Miles, and Pretty Little Liars’ Chandler Kinney as Kimberly.
Series creators Kitrell and Dries serve as co-creators and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt.
Other details about Elle remain under wraps.
