Family confirms suspect shot by Durham officer in Food Lion parking lot after reports of cars racing is 16-year-old boy

A Durham Police officer shot an armed person in the parking lot of Food Lion on Hope Valley Road early Sunday morning. Police were initially called there for reports of a “car club” racing in the area just after midnight.
