Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Wants to ‘Stream’ Blake Lively Deposition

Justin Baldoni’s lawyer is making headlines with an unusual request, as the actor’s legal team wants Blake Lively’s deposition to be streamed live or even held at Madison Square Garden. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, argues that since Lively is willing to testify, the session should be made public, with proceeds benefiting domestic abuse victims.

“Since Ms. Lively is open to testifying, let’s make it count,” said Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, in a statement to People. “Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it, and donate every dollar to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse,” he added.
This legal feud started when Lively filed a lawsuit in December 2024 against Baldoni, which alleges sexual harassment during the production of It Ends With Us. Baldoni has denied the claims and responded with a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and others, accusing them of defamation and civil extortion.
The Jane the Virgin star’s attorney revealed that Baldoni will testify at the March 2026 trial, which will proceed without courtroom cameras. Lively’s lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, has also stated that the Another Simple Favor actress will take the stand. But it was Freedman’s call to turn the deposition into a streamed or ticketed event that has drawn the most attention.
“She has been testifying since the moment she auditioned for this part,” Freedman remarked, adding, “If she is suddenly now willing to sit for a deposition, I am available. How does tomorrow morning work for her?”
Blake Lively’s lawyer pushed back, accusing Baldoni’s team of creating a “media circus” by floating celebrity subpoenas and leveraging public platforms. He emphasized that the focus should remain on the workplace allegations, not on spectacle. Freedman insists Lively used her celebrity influence to manipulate public opinion and weaponized her high-profile friends in a calculated campaign.
