The Scream 7 cast continues to reach back into history, with Deadline reporting that David Arquette is reprising his role as Deputy Dewey Riley in the upcoming movie.
Arquette’s character is a fan-favorite amongst Scream fans, having been around since the original 1996 film. The character of Dewey first appeared as the older brother of Tatum Riley (Rose McGowan), and a clumsy police deputy trying to help solve the murders happening in Woodsboro.
Throughout the films, Dewey would go on to become a mainstay in the Scream films, with his character marrying Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers. In 2022’s Scream, Arquette’s Riley was killed by Ghostface. It’s currently unclear just how Dewey will return in the upcoming movie.
What do we know about Scream 7’s cast?
Information about the upcoming movie is being kept under wraps as of now, but the film is set to bring back several stars from past movies. Alongside the returning Neve Campbell, Scream 7 will also see the return of Courteney Cox to the franchise as she reprises her role of Gale Weathers.
Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, two other actors who portrayed characters that died in past Scream movies, have also been reported to have joined the film. Mason Gooding is also set to return to the franchise as Chad Meeks-Martin, while Jasmine Savoy Brown will return to reprise her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin.
1883 star Isabela May has also signed on to the project to play the role of Sidney Prescott’s daughter. McKenna Grace, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Celeste O’Connor, and Anna Camp have all also joined the cast of the film. Joel McHale is also set to star in the movie as Sidney Prescott’s husband, Mark Evans. Mark Consuelos is also set to star in the movie in some capacity.
